Young Academists

Ages 9 to 13

An advanced art class for children that are enthusiastic and strongly interested in drawing and painting. The students will train their eye to see size relationships and subtle differences of tone, form and edges, while attaining a mastery over materials. Instruction will be tailored to individual student levels, needs, and artistic preferences. Materials are included in the fee.

Young Artists

Ages 6 to 12

Through the eyes of art masters from Michaelangelo to Pollock, these art classes explore all sorts of interesting movements in Art History. Children learn that not all art is representational and gain confidence to express their own ideas with a variety of materials and techniques including drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, 3D work and more.

High School Independent Projects

High School students

High School students may join this class in order to work on fulfilling their portfolio requirements or learn the techniques of representational art. Instruction will be tailored to individual student levels and needs.

Drawing and Painting for Adults

Adults and Teens (Saturdays)

This class is for both beginner and intermediate students. Students are welcome to bring their own drawing or painting projects. The class will explore techniques such as sighting for proportional relationships, contour line, and shading, with emphasis on the principles of strong composition. The instructor will provide guidance and support during the creation process.

Summer Classes

All Ages
July - August

These classes are for children and adults, ages 10 and up. All levels welcome! Students can bring their own projects and choose to either draw or paint using charcoal, pencil, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, or oils. Or we can set a small still life and learn fundamentals of drawing and painting!
